SGMS Explores Rare Books At Kent Library
SEMO Archivist, Tyson Koenig, generously shared his time with students from SGMS and took a deep dive into the Charles Harrison Collection. This collection, valued conservatively at 3 million dollars, is a treasure trove of manuscripts and texts dating back to the 1300's and includes a Bible printed within 50 years of the Gutenburg Printing Press.
The Charles Luce Harrison Collection contains over 800 rare or unusual books, reflecting the "history of the book" from the 13th-early 20th centuries.. The collection contains examples of:
